Gangtok – Lachung

Gangtok is a city, municipality, the capital and the largest town of the Indian state of Sikkim. It is also the headquarters of the East Sikkim district. Gangtok is in the eastern Himalayan range, at an elevation of 1,650 m (5,410 ft). Within the higher peaks of the Himalaya and with a year-round mild temperate climate, Gangtok is at the centre of Sikkim’s tourism industry.

Lachung is a town and hill station in northeast Sikkim, India. It is located in the North Sikkim district near the border with Tibet. Lachung is at an elevation of about 9,600 feet (2,900 m) and at the confluence of the lachen and Lachung Rivers, both tributaries of the River Teesta. The word Lachung means “small pass”. The town is approximately 125 kilometres (78 mi) from the capital Gangtok.

Itinerary

The Itinerary is given below –

Day 1

Dhaka to Gangtok by bus. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 2

Gangtok Sightseeing. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 3

Gangtok to Lachung by car. Night stay at Lachung.

Day 4

Lachung sightseeing. Transfer to Gangtok & night stay.

Day 5

Gangtok to Siliguri. Night stay at Siliguri.

Day 6

Free time at siliguri. After lunch Siliguri to Dhaka by bus.
