Dhaka-Shillong-Guwahati-Shillong-Cherrapunji

Shillong is a hill station and the capital of Meghalaya, a state in northeastern India. It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district. Shillong is the 330th most populous city in India. It is said that the rolling hills around the town reminded the British of Scotland. Hence, they would also refer to it as the “Scotland of the East”.

Guwahati is the biggest city of the Indian state of Assam and also the largest metropolis in northeastern India. The city is known as the “gateway to North East India”. Assam’s first ropeway available in Guwahati, Ropeway connect North Guwahati to Guwahati. The ancient cities of Pragjyotishpura and Durjaya (North Guwahati) were the capitals of the ancient state of Kamarupa. Many ancient Hindu temples like the Kamakhya Temple, Ugratara Temple, Basistha Temple, Doul Govinda Temple, Umananda Temple, Navagraha Temple, Sukreswar Temple, Rudreswar Temple, Manikarneswar Devalaya, Aswaklanta Temple, Dirgheshwari Temple, Lankeshwar Temple, Bhubaneswari Temple, Shree Ganesh Mandir, Shree Panchayatana Temple, Noonmati, and the like, are situated in the city, giving it the title of “The City of Temples”.

Cherrapunji or Sohra is a sub-divisional town (Proposed District) East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is the traditional capital of ka hima Sohra (Khasi tribal kingdom). Sohra has often been credited as being the wettest place on Earth. The native inhabitants living in and around Sohra are known as Khasi people.

Day 1

Departure
At 11.30 PM departure Dhaka by AC bus for Sylhet. Over night bus journey.

Day 2

Shillong
Morning arrival Sylhet bus counter, after breakfast transfer to Tamabil / Dawki border, start for Shillong via Cherrapunji sightseeing, arrival Shillong at 05.00 pm, transfer to hotel, after lunch free for personal activities, overnight stay at hotel in Shillong.

Day 3

Shillong
CHERRAPUNJEE – SHILLONG
After early breakfast proceed to Cherrapunjee. Enjoy a pleasant drive to see water falls & gorges. Cherrapunjee – The wettest place on Earth offers roaring water falls, limestone caves, living root bridge, & galore of water & adventure activities. Witness the gorgeous Seven Sisters falls & visit the Mawsmai cave & Thangkharang Park. Return to Shillong. Enroute visit at Shillong Peak. Overnight in Shillong.

Day 4

Guwahati-SHILLONG – GUWAHATI
Shillong – The ‘Gleneagle of the East’ lies in the centre of a plateau surrounded by Khasi hills. The gorgeous city offers amazing tourist spots. The city’s own Ward’s Lake is popular for short garden walks & boating. The Botanical Garden offers plethora of indigenous and exotic plants & rare collection of orchids. Butterfly Museum is a storehouse of finest and rarest species of butterflies and moths. Lady Hydari Park is a Japanese style landscaped park endowed with streaches of roses & exquisite flowers. The Mini zoo adjacent to the park has about 73 birds, 140 reptiles & mammals. One of the largest Golf courses in Asia is an 18 hole Golf Course is charted amidst a surging valley full of thick pine groves & rhododendron trees. Spend the evening in the splendid arena ! The State Museum is a display of the lifestyle and heritage of the people of Meghalaya. Shillong and its surrounding is dotted with splendid waterfalls cascading down deep valleys forming misty sparks as they break the silence of the surroundings. Elephant Falls is a mountain stream gorging down two successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks. Other falls are Bishop and Beadon Falls, Spread Eagle Falls, Sweet Falls, Crinoline Falls to name a few. Shillong Peak displays a mesmerising view of the scenic country side. Transfer to Guwahati. Overnight in.

Day 5

After Breakfast at 08.00 AM start for Sylhet, arrival Sylhet at 05.00 PM and After Dinner start for Dhaka. arrival Dhaka at 07.00 am.
