Kathmandu- Chandragiri

Kathmandu is the capital and most populous city of Nepal. The city is one of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the world, founded in the 2nd century AD. The valley was historically called the “Nepal Mandala” and has been the home of the Newar people, a cosmopolitan urban civilization in the Himalayan foothills. Kathmandu is and has been for many years the centre of Nepal’s history, art, culture, and economy. In 2013, Kathmandu was ranked third among the top ten upcoming travel destinations in the world by TripAdvisor, and ranked first in Asia. The city is considered the gateway to the Nepal Himalayas and is home to several World Heritage Sites: the Durbar Square, Swayambhu Mahachaitya, Bouddha and Pashupatinath.

Chandragiri is a suburb and neighbourhood of Tirupati and located in Tirupati district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Chandragiri is famous for Chandragiri Fort, is an historical fort built in the 11th century, and the Raja Mahal (Palace) within it.

Itinerary

The Itinerary is given below –

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu. Drive to Bouddhanath and lunch at a restaurant there with the stupa view. We then continue our journey to Chandragiri hills where we need to take the cable car ride to reach the resort. The view is breathtaking. O/n at the resort.

Day 2

Pickup from Chandragiri hills and we drive to Swayambhunath stupa. We continue our journey to Patan Durbar Square where we can also have lunch. Drive to Thamel. Free time to explore Thamel.

Day 3

On this day, we drive out of Kathmandu to Namobuddha monastery where we can enjoy the Tibetan architecture. On our way back we visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Lunch in Bhaktapur. On going back to Kathmandu, we can visit Kathmandu Durbar Square and make our way back to the hotel walking the streets of the local market.

Day 4

Breakfast at hotel and airport drop.
